C09: The Third Sunday after the Epiphany, Year C (2016)

Jim Somerville

“When Did Jesus Know?” A sermon by Jim Somerville for the Third Sunday after the Epiphany, Year C, based on Luke 4:14-21. Somerville is the Pastor of Richmond’s First Baptist Church and Co-Founder of A Sermon for Every Sunday.  In this sermon he talks about Epiphany as that time of year when we see Jesus revealed as the Son of God, but then he wonders: “When did Jesus know who he was?  When was his personal epiphany?  Is it possible that he wasn’t sure until this moment in the synagogue at Nazareth?”
