B49: All Saints’ Day (The Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost), Year B (2015)

Rolf Jacobson

Rolf Jacobson, Professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and one of the “stars” of the Sermon Brainwave podcast, preaches a sermon for All Saints’ Day from Revelation 21:1-6a. Jacobson notes that All Saints’ is often referred to as the church’s Memorial Day. But there are many other meanings of the word “saint” and the day on which we honor them all.  Listen as Jacobson explains the subtleties and nuances of this special day on the liturgical calendar.
