Dr. Brian Blount, President of Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and former Professor of New Testament at Princeton, preaches a sermon from Mark 1:4-11 called, “God on the Loose.” Dr. Blount begins with the story of how his life was altered radically by the birth of a tiny baby–his daughter–and then draws the parallel between that arrival and this one: Jesus’ striding onto the stage of history in the first chapter of Mark, and being “possessed” by the untamed Spirit of God.
