Edwards shares an experiment, conducted by the Harvard Business School, on the connection between money and happiness. Edwards offers a conclusion: “Yes, money can buy happiness-—but only if you spend it on someone else.” Edwards pivots to the story of the “rich fool” and says: “The man in Jesus’ story doesn’t seem wicked. He doesn’t harm his workers. He doesn’t mock God. He’s just successful. And alone.”
Rev. Dr. Jason Edwards is the senior pastor of Second Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University, a master of divinity from Truett Seminary at Baylor University, and a doctorate in ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
