“The House of Laughter and Light” (C18: Fourth Sunday in Lent)

Rev. Thomas Kleinert

As Rev. Kleinert unpacks the story commonly referred to as the “Prodigal Son,” he suggests that the father wants the story to end with “a feast which fairness cannot host but which love never tires to prepare.”
Thomas Kleinert is the senior minister of Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born and raised in Germany, and he hasn’t quite lost his accent since moving to the U.S. in 1994. Most days as a minister, he considers himself fortunate to get paid for doing what he loves. He is married to Nancy, and they have two adult children. He loves reading, walking under trees, kayaking, cooking and baking.
