C11: Transfiguration Sunday, Year C (2016)

Carla Pratt Keyes

“Oohh…shiny!” Carla Pratt Keyes, pastor of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia, says this is how her friend described today’s passages (Exodus 24:29-35, Luke 9:28-36, and 2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2) on the Transfiguration. Moses, Peter, James, and John all get to experience God’s glory more up close and personal than others. They saw “an awesome entry of heavenly, holy mystery into human experience.” How do we experience this breaking in of God’s glory into our own lives?
