B44: The Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Year B (2018)

Ginger Gaines-Cirelli

In today’s sermon, Ginger Gaines-Cirelli, Senior Pastor of the historic Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, DC, preaches on Mark 9:30-37. She begins with a story about how she had helped decorate the youth space at her church. Years later after she left, it was painted over to make room for a new vision.  She didn’t like that at all.  She asks, “Why do so many of us get bogged down in keeping things from changing?” Listen as she explains how Jesus taught us to overcome the “all about me” syndrome.
