The Rev. Micah Jackson is the Bishop John Elbridge Hines Associate Professor of Preaching and Director of Comprehensive Wellness at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. He was one of the featured preachers at the 2017 Festival of Homiletics in San Antonio, where we recorded this sermon. It’s from that challenging text in Matthew 16 where Jesus insists that his disciples deny themselves, take up their crosses, and follow him. How do we do that?
