“Here, Let Me Help You With That” (A32: Proper 9)

Rev. Dr. Judy Kincaid

Zechariah 9:9-12; Psalm 145:8-14; Romans 7:15-25a; Matthew 11:16-19,25-30

Kincaid reflects on weariness through stories of family labor, children mimicking busy adults, and Jesus’ invitation to rest. She contrasts society’s heavy expectations with Christ’s light burden, arguing that love, surrender, and trust in God ease life’s weight. True peace comes not from doing more, but from yielding control and walking beside Jesus in faith.

Rev. Dr. Judy Kincaid serves Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Temple University. Her master of divinity and her doctorate of biblical preaching are from Luther Seminary.
