“Go!” (A28: Proper 5)

Rev. Dr. Paul Baxley

Genesis 12:1-9 and Psalm 33:1-12; Hosea 5:15–6:6; Psalm 50:7-15; Romans 4:13-25; Matthew 9:9-13,18-26

Baxley uses the story of God calling and sending Abram in Genesis 12 to think about people on the move. “The fact that God is a sending God,” says Baxley, “means that God sends people from other places and other cultures to be instruments of healing and agents of grace in our lives.”

Rev. Dr. Paul Baxley is the executive coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, a master of theological studies from Duke Divinity School, and a doctorate of ministry from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
