“Attention Is Precious” (A08: Second Sunday After the Epiphany)

Rev. Dr. Tom Bryson

Isaiah 49:1-7; Psalm 40:1-11; 1 Corinthians 1:1-9; John 1:29-42

“What gets your attention?” asks Bryson, who says that attention is not only “a scarce and precious resource” but also “an ever shrinking commodity.” Bryson offers a word about Jesus’ “come and see” invitation amidst our attention economy.

Rev. Dr. Tom Bryson is co-pastor of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University, a master of divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, and a doctorate of ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary.
