“Praying Like the Powerless” (C47: Proper 24)

Rev. Jesús García

Jeremiah 31:27-34 and Psalm 119:97-104; Genesis 32:22-31 and Psalm 121; 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5; Luke 18:1-8

García uses the story of the “persistent widow” in Luke 18 to talk about “refusing to quit when the world tells you to walk away.” García, who grew up in Puerto Rico, shares a relevant saying in Spanish: “El que persevera, alcanza.” “The one who perseveres, reaches.”
